No but the mcheddadi has already done that swap but he has 6MT. There's a thread in here what he did and what year sentra he used. I take it though you didn't use the big blinking red search button above huh? Anyway, I would like to know also if this can be done a 3.5 CVT

The CVT transmission has a diff, but when I compared the diagram for the CVT and the 6MT the diff looked different and smaller on the cvt, it would need to be a custom made differential by a company like quaife or something. and since the cvt doesn't act like normal 6mt I don't know if it would work the way its supposed to...but It should since its a torque sensing unit

I love mine. It hasn't caused any problems and I just found out their warranty is doubled on it

I received a letter from Nissan about this. I bought the extended warranty when I got the car for 100K, but it's worth SIHT if the CVT keeps running into problems and I have to keep taking it to the dealer to get fixed . I know Tim at SFR is going to work a miracle to stop all these problems on my car .

I ran my car at low boost 6-7 psi all the time. It lasted longer than expected without having trouble 4-5 month. Then my pressure control celonoid went out. After Tim replaced that he was test driving the car and said all was well. When he got back to his shop his 2 other TECH's took off for a second test drive and Tim said before they got to the end of the block he heard the car whin down. The guys pushed the car back to the shop and said that the transmission just stopped. They did their work then Tim called me back and said that the torque converter went out. It's the price you have to pay for buying the CVT and wanting the car to have balls. I regret getting a CVT, but I already had a M/T car at the time and Socal is a MOTHER with traffic which is why I didn't get it.

Sent you an email... Just go for it and get the turbo dude. You wont regret it. With as much SIHT as it seems you feel like a LORD when you're driving/ crusing down the road and know most cars on the road aren't a threat performance wise. I gave a charger SRT8 a run for it's money from the line. I won by like 7 car lenths or more at the end. When that dude pulled up to me at the next light his face was like . I just gave him the that's right bruh you shouldn't have reved your engine at me. Respond to my email.

The last I knew, SFR was going to make a transmission cooler package to address the CVT problem. We all knew what happened to Blakes car and how the solenoid burned out because of the additional heat the turbo generated. I'm just surprised people are buying turbos with CVT and NOT putting or adding additional cooling system for the transmission

SFR since the beginning has had the transmission cooler for the CVT. Blake just decided not to get it IF I remember correctly. When I got my turbo I told Tim to put everything on including the transmission cooler.

The CVT is a definite fail for high performance on the altima. The CVT on the 2.5L shouldnt be considered for anything (haha) and the 3.5L definitely could use a transmission cooler in any performance application let alone turbo. As far as I know there is no lsd that will work with either of those CVTs. I`m not sure that the differential is the weak point there to start with...

Woah.. been awhile...

Mine went after about 6 months at 7psi with the transmission cooler installed... (in my case not only did the solenoid go bad but the forward clutch pack and chain were in bad shape too...)

I just got my rebuilt transmission back from SFR a couple weeks ago... Unfortunately the storm of the century here in mid-atlantic has caused some delays on getting it installed... Should have it back in a couple weeks!

Thanks for the brakes comment. Just got off the phone with Tim. He said it wasn't going to be ready this weekend because he's putting the guys to work primarily on your car to finish it faster for you. It takes about 3-4 days to do the complete install of the turbo.

Although I would love to boast of mycar having turbo but frankly, I don't think it's worth the time, money or hassle if you're boosting a CVT. I'll find a better alternative, something that isn't so taxing on the CVT. Besides, I'm keeping this car for 1 more year and then off to the next...probably a 370 Nismo or GTR..not sure yet. Looking at the pros and cons of each and what is a better value to own and mod.

I'd say a 370z would be far more economical in terms of modding. Or how about just doing a transmission swap on the Altima?

Not true. When we first created the kit from scratch back in July of 08, no one considered the transmission overheat a problem, considering the fluid is originally cooled by the bottom half of the radiator. Once my transmission blew, we found out the the failure code was associated with the pressure solenoid, which has a lot of heat sensitive components. Put a cooler on it, and its ran fine until I took my kit off a few months ago.

Sorry about that Blake. I must have understood someone or something wrong. Yeah the transmission cooler is a must. So what's the next car Blake?

well I couldn't pass mod mainly thanks to Blake pricing and Tim for hooking it up

Getting another car lol. I haven't been driving it much really. Just riding the bike, looking for a 4x4 or something along the lines of a 335i

Don't worry about it dude. I rather them take their time so the work can be done correctly and thoroughly. Tim guaranteed me that I will not have problems with it at all.
