Keep the 272's, lose the bc springs and go with these http://www.mazworx.com/store/?...ct=25

then go with solid lash adjusters, you run a good chance of collapsing the hydraulic ones. Also, with your setup and the previously mentioned changes you would be able to rev to 8500rpm and have a good time

if your car is going to be a drag car or a highway queen then Id put 270s. If you are going to do any kind of road racing then Id use 260s.

It is not impossible at all. You just have to have a brain and know how to read. Check Mr. Zamballa's Head build to see how easy it is.

It's Mr. Zabala just to be clear. I'd run 264/272 personally.

im really tryiing to keep bottom end power up...so im def. not going 272/272...now the debate is whether or not 264/272 or 264/264

Matt Back and I installed his solid lifter kit on my car in two hours, which included getting the clearances set. No kit is easier to install than his. Also, after talking with the guys at mazworx, xat racing, Matt, and the Enjuku guys, staggered cams are not worth it.

ok so it's 264/264...thats what i had been leaning towards all along but i just wanted to get some reassurance... but since im not going with a monster cam then why is it necessary to go with the solid lifters???

cuz sr's dont like high rpms (even redline, not overrevving) and solid lifters will help control any valve float

well most people make their power under 8k rpms....so why go any higher than 8... thats barely higher than stock...

Big cams require stiffer valve springs, and when you increase the seat pressure you increase the pressure on the hydraulic lash adjusters... you should be able to see where this is going judging from your other posts, but the short story is they can collapse, then rocker arms start to fall off or with rocker arm stoppers, break.
