Ok I am just back from the HKS drags, my last. Thumper performed up to expectations and accorded myself well I can't complain. What I can complain about however it the stupid HKS jackoffs, I have had enough of them and I will not give them any more of my money or play their stupid games on my dime!

First complaint, I enter my car in the actuator class. This is a class for cars without external wastegates but there were some wicked fast actuated cars today Iwould have lost anyway. HKS calls me and tells me 4WD cars have too much advantage and they were putting me in the FR class with 500-700hp full wastegated cars. I got demolished but like I said the car did what I thought it would so I am still happy.

Second complaint, they refused to allow any non-japanese cars in and will not let anybody run "foreign" tires like BF Goodrich. I pointed out that Kawasaki-san runs Goodyear Eagles, "only open class has unlimited tires" they say. I then point out that Nittos are American, "that's different" they say. I ask them if the difference is the kickback Nitto must be giving them, no comment.

Third complaint, I remove my passenger-side headlight to get some cold air in the turbo. The HKS tech-fag says I can't have the headlight out, "all lights must work" they say. I look up at the sun, which incidently burned my up, and ask "when are we racing 8PM"? I then point out the three GT-Rs that have their lights out, "they have special fiberglass ones with small lights so they are OK" they say. I get pissed, I slam the headlight back in and tell the guy "**** you and **** your gay rules, you can take this cluster**** and stick it up your ***, now get away from me before I *****slap you"! After the translator finishes he they scurry away.

Fourth complaint, They start running the classes and the go through about twenty cars befor they realize the timers are setup wrong. All those are thrown out and they have to run again. It's noon before I get my first pass. These goofs have their heads up there asses and I ain't having it nomore.

Kawasaki-san has his own thing called the Dryhopp, it's coming in June and it is much better. I hope just because he drives for HKS this bull**** doesn't appear in his series otherwise I will have no place to run my car legally because this is complete bull**** and HKS can suck a big fat infected ****. I will be showing up to the Dryhopp with a big "**** HKS" shirt on, screw them!

Anyhow let my take my Ridalin and drop the times on you. This is a 150 meter run so if anyone out there can come up with a clever formula to convert that to a quarter mile please crunch the numbers and tell us what it might be.I figue it would be safe to add what 1 second, 1.5 seconds to get an eighth mile time, sound fair?

First run;reaction .669150 meter 7.969Trap speed 99.36 KPHtotal 8.638

Second run;Reaction .498150 meter 7.991Trap speed 101.88 KPHTotal 8.489

Third runReaction .323150 meter 8.069trap speed 99.72 KPHTotal 8.392

Not bad for what it is bone stock RB20 with an RB25 turbo. Of course the GTS-T I had to race all three times with the TD06-25G boosted RB25DET caught me rather quickly. Dollar for dollar I did well.

Sorry you're getting screwed so much over there. I'm sure the translator left a few things out. I think a lot of what you said isn't even possible to translate. If you're OK with using your "average" acceleration I have the following 1/4 times. Really more an excercise in algebra, cause I'm sure they're not too accurate:1: 13.05s2: 13.09s3: 13.22s

Again, calculated using your average acceleration over the 150m, which I'm sure is better than it would be over the 1/4. Also, the times *don't* include reaction, so add that to each time. Cool that your improving reaction more than compensated for your trap times which, I'm guessing, increased cause the car was warmer on each successive run(?).

Well obviously there is some political BS going on behind the scenes, fine they can play that game without me. I would like to take a look at that alcohol kit for Damien though WD if you want to sell it. I am done with Thumper, I had my fun, boost is back to normal, I'm parking it on base to advertise it.I have to start cleaning up the wife's 180 now, get it ready for the new engine. I also need to get all the loose ends tied up on Damien because as soon as the new engine is in the 180 I will clean up the old one and stick it in Damien for inspection.Dadelous' numbers sound right, it felt like a high 14sec run to me. I was messing with the guy I was racing, he said "you need tires" pointing at the dryrotted 205s on Thumper, I told him "secret weapon, special dry hopp tire". (emphasis on "dry") :pface

I don't think Big Evil will be "ready" for the dryhopp in June as in a big powerful engine in it but if there is a running engine in it I will enter it. I mean I entered it as a 150hp NA if I have a shoestring crippled CA18DET with a blown turbo and bad compression I bet I can still improve on it's previous times and it is common knowledge that I don't care about winning just throwing down at the tree. If some business deals go down good i might have some liquid cash an I know where to get Nitrous on this lil' island, thinking about a 100 shot "spool up kit":evilhaha

Actually, the HKS sponsored drag events do suck DSM....Us round eyes take a bad wrap over here. HKS makes a great product, but they are really biased towards the locals over here. If the techs were the same to all, then we wouldn't complain, but that just isn't the case.

That completley bites.

I hate it when they have all those crazy rules and then they can't even run the timers right.:rolleyes

I think the simple solution would just be to kick the tech's in the face...three times.

why would 4WD cars have an advantage?? dont they suffer more HP drivetrain loss, and arent as fast off the launch as FR cars are??

Well theoretically I should have a better launch but it takes power to truly benefit from the traction. I quickly dicovered when take, essentialy a GTR, pull out the RB26 and put in an RB20 it's more of a hinderance than a help. I beat my previous GTS-T's time by .600 sec and it had stock everything except for intake, exhuast and boost up with crazy-go-nuts wheelspin. Another 100hp would make a big difference in a car with this kind of grip. If I had had decent tires I would have disabled the 4WD on one of the runs just to see.

Oh I did my talking on the track and like I said the car did what I expected it do do and I didn't screw up so the day was fun for me but HKS has gotten stupid and that pissed me off.

I don't think it's becuase we were american, just that they were stupid. I think the "No foreign tire except Nitto" is obviously financialy motivated. The "all lights must work" thing is likely to foster the illusion that these are street cars.:rolleyes I would like to see all of them try to pass an inspection. My car as weak as it is(by camparison at least) would fail, something tells me the Silvia with the 700hp RB26 would probably fare worse :D

Well "Mad One" You had a bad day huh? I heard that they were being a bunch of stupid B@t#c$s. That wouldn't be the first time I have seen Bias at Nago. I remember when you and I raced last year they wouldn't give me my Trophy or Rice because there was only two of us. Well what happened the last time I raced a Dryhopp. Hmm let's see The HAS GTR ran with no one in his class and low and behold He got his Rice and Trophy two. Anyway I guess you are screwed man. You are really upset about that light thing huh? Never put your MODS in until after Inspection.

Just got the latest Quick magazine, a local carmag. It has the stats from the Drag meet and i had some pleasent suprizes.

The ungodly fast beast I got destroyed by was as fast as I thought. My lil Skyline's best time is listed at 8.392 @ 99KPH for the 150 meters, my opponent's Skyline with the T67 and RB25 6.826 @ 137KPH! Ok I got stomped, it's only right, that car was a bruiser! He whooped a couple of GT-Rs too, out of a feild of 14 Rs this guy had five of them cooked!

Back to me, I had wanted to go in the actuator class but there was little love there either. I would have beat three other Skylines and rubbed fenders with a sick old school Toyota Levin but that's it.I ended up in the FR class though and I only beat two cars but OMFG I am still laughing at what I well, stomped!

First a GTS-T with get this, a TO4E,260 degree cams, an OS close ratio transmission and twin plate. All that and he comes with a measly 8.933 @ 70KPH!:rotflmao Get a refund from the shop that juiced you you poor bastard!

Second is a full on shop car built by RAM garage. It's a 300ZX with an OS close ratio transmission and triple plate with TWO TD06s!!!! I have seen this car in action on the street and I know something was WAY off that day but he managed to limp across the line in 9.363 @ 66KPH! Excuse me!!! He had more money tied up in ONE of his TWO turbos than I had in my entire car!

It was money well spent to beat that car, what a loser!http://www7.ocn.ne.jp/~ram/sub2-3.htmlthe white one with the plumbing system in the back:eek:

TMS,You should see some of the crap that rolls down IRP (Indianapolis Raceway Park) on Tuesday (amateur night). Chevy Cavaliers with big wings and parts falling off. We had a buddy in a RX-7 that had no exhaust system (fell off) and a taillight that was hanging on by a few wires. Every time he shifted a loud bang could be heard going down the track. Last Tuesday we had a couple oil leaks that shut down the track. It’s amazing what they will let through at tech inspection.
