I've got a HKS ssqv that I've had for probably 7-8 years now.......I had it on my old ca18et, and now on my ca18det.Anyway, the problem I am having is that when I am at WOT and hitting full boost (14-15psi), sometimes the nipple on the body of the bov that the vac line hooks onto, will pop out with the vac line attached to it. It's done it several times, twice on the ca18et, and twice so far on the ca18det. Anyone else have this problem, or ever hear of this? You would think the nipple would be screwed in, but it's not......just wedged into the body. I can't figure out how to keep it in there......if I tap it in too far, the bov won't function at all. The nipple has to be barley in the hole for the bov to function. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears. You would think a $300 (what I paid back in the day) product would be built better than this

I would replace the nipple with a threaded one and tap the body of the BOV and use thread locker, or buy a real BOV. Sorry, but the HKS unit has been a POS for a decade.

Yes, that Apex one can be used as an anvil in a pinch, incredibly beefy.

Never had an issue with my SSQV. Now my old ARC was a leaky son of a gun...

Hmmm, good idea I may try that. Whats wrong with the ssqv? I've had mine for almost a decade.......and have never had a problem with it, until recently with the nipple issue.I had the Apexi twin chamber one before the hks, and personally it sucked. Leaked under moderate boost from the get go. Had to send it to Apexi for a warranty claim.....and 6 months later they said it was faulty, and sent me a refund check.

I had one of the early sequential ones, the base sheared right off. Very dramatic. I use Blitz super sounds as well as the leviathan, the Trust Type R.
