HKS SSQV on low boost?

Hey guys,

I finally got my KA-T going and I'm a little concerned about the noises coming from the SSQV. I've adjusted it all the way loose and have run a dedicated line from the intake manifold to it. It is recirculated to the turbo inlet.

I'm running about 8psi right now and when i build like 1-2psi boost it kinda sounds like a compressor surge. When I hammer it and between shifts it sounds kinda piercing.. I've taken it apart and the valve moves freely.

Does anyone have a sound clip of what the SSQV is supposed to sound like under low boost/load?

The SSQ BOV does flutter under low boost... just 1-2 PSI will make a fluttering sound that's the sequential part of the BOV.

Which nipple are you using on the bov and where is your source of vaccum?

I made a brass 'T' from Home Depot and ran it off the brake booster line. It works fine although it still makes a sputtering sound at low boost. At a full throttle shift it makes a nice, muted pterodactyl screech haha.
