Well i bought a drop in motorset and before i bought it the bov worked. Now it sat for a few months and it now wont work. I have a good vacuum source and im pulling 17-18 psi on my gauge at idle. It compressor surges if i try and get into boost while stationary(revving) and i really dont want to get any real compressor surge under load. I pulled it apart, and everything seemed ok. Now i did notice when you suck on the bov to create a vacuum the valve pulls tight against the housing as to seal in the boost. Is this normal?

Thanks for the help!

Double check your vacuum source and plumbing.Try adjusting the screw if available. When you are under boost, does it surge then? Seems like you have turbo flutter while revving and letting off in neutral. If it is surging while revving, yeah you need to check that asap.

A video would be nice.

Surges under boost, tried a few different vacuum sources, and it surges all the time. I took it for two laps around the block, surged pretty bad so i stopped driving it. I ended up just ordering a knock off one to get me running. I have a little bit of smoke after letting off now that i didnt have before. Hoping i didnt kill my turbo already.

These things are prone to break. Have heard so much about the ssqv. Try the reputable greddy type r i believe.

Take it apart and lube the shaft that slides back and forth. Look up how to take it apart. It's probably just dried up.
