Ok so ive been torn between the HKS Hi-Power exhaust OR the Greddy Ti-C exhaust. Ive listened to both on Youtube but they both sound equally awesome and Im having a hard time trying to decide. If anyone has any good reviews on either of these exhaust on a KA24de that would be much appreciated. Mainly what im looking for is which one keeps that low deep rumble even at really high rpms without getting raspy or crackling.

See im kinda leaning towards the HKS but I wanted some input from some other people with the greddy. Cause i dont want to make a decision and not be 100% satisfied. Cause once I install it theres no returning it ya know ;)

I have the HKS, I love it. The tone is great, but I dunno how just the catback would sound. I installed an OBX header and test pipe at the same time. Can't say the tone is very low at high rpms, but it still sounds great.

I think Greddy went bankrupt again not too long ago. Idk, seems like their still selling parts.

I would honestly just get a muffler shop's exhaust or a BRM one. They're all going to sound the same, you're just paying for the name. There's no "magic muffler."

Well I thought the same thing at one point but when my buddy got is s14 he had some wack ebay special on his car and it sounded like S**T past 3.5k rpms and It made me realize that yes your paying for name but your also paying for many hrs or R&D along with great sound/quality

Well I figured the tone wont get to crazy loud cause besides my CIA the entire car is all stock

Yeah I looked around Youtube for some videos of it, but I just wasnt that impressed with its sound quality but It could have been due to that fact that it was filmed on a crappy camcorder and I was listening from my laptop lol.

i agree with az
i have a borrowed apex-i gt spec and its a ridiculous, it has 3.75" piping
i have a ebay header, dowpipe, and test pipe, it sounds very deeeeeeep!
the rasp tone is from just having the cherry bomb type resonator.
on my old 240 i had the same set up in the front but had a ebay special exhaust, and it sounded like s*** around 3k rpm, went to the muffler shop and added another resonator, it was a bit better....kinda.

i'd go with the hi-power.
good luck choosing yo.

I've had domestic muscle car guys/friends straight up laugh at my exhaust. I turn the car on and the laughing stopped and they said it sounded nice. I've got a dual can ebay exhaust i got used from my buddy for $90. There's no need to dish out 500 and 600 bucks on some pipes. Quite frankly I think mine sounds better than every 240 exhaust iv'e heard in person even though that number might not m be many lol.

I have the APEXi GT Spec stainless steel cat-back (95mm (3.74 inch) mandrel bent w/115mm tip). I've had it for 7-8 years now and not a single problem with quality. It looks the same as it did new. Whilst not a GReddy or HKS (for sake of staying on topic), the reason I bring this up is to vouch for quality. I'd gladly spend the money again for a proven high-flow, true mandrel bent top quality stainless steel system with a sound that is music to the ears. I actually had my system on the car with the stock KA just prior to building it, and it sounded pretty good on the NA too.

Well thanks for all the input and advice, but I decided to go ahead and get the HKS Hi-Power after all :). Also I bought it from IntensePower.com, has anyone had any good or bad experiences with them?(this might be for a whole nother thread lol) Unfortunately there HKS shipment from Japan didn't leave on time so instead of my exhaust being here in 1.5 weeks, I got to wait until the end of this month or the beginning of July which really sucks but whatever...I smell a build thread in the near future.

I heard the HKS can be annoying/too loud.

I'm also looking for an exhaust, the person I bought the car from has some cheapo one on that looks like a soda can...I'd rather have a stock muffler then the one I have now.

HKS or Greddy will be about the same fitment wise etc. Go with which one you like more. The Ti-C is a bit more expensive but the titanium tip is pretty sexy hot.

The dual n1 has always sounded pretty amazing on the KA to me. I have the HKS hi power on my SR, and its VERY deep. Like. Vibrates pictures off walls deep.

Yeah honestly I figured they would fit about the same and even sound very similar, but Im not gonna lie I do like the way the Greddy looks cause of the brunt tip (so sexy) but the price of the HKS is what really drove me to chose it also and I got a killer deal on it :)

The HKS installs very easily too, after working for about 2 hours to get my obx header installed, the catback system bolted up in about 20 minutes...... all the hangers were in the exact right spot, and it was a breeze. And the first time I started it, I was in love.........

don't eliminate other brands though,
there are a bunch out there that sound tasty :naughty:

mine actually has a nice tone to it,
stays deep as i go through the rpm's.
and it's fairly quiet at idle.

I had a chance on Hi-Power but sold it and bought the Trust PE II.
