Thanks to a hook up my brother found i have the ability to buy either a hks tripple or twin disk clutch for less than $400 both are used and i figured new clutch disks/steels should cost less thanbuying the clutch new. I know sr clutches fit on the ka but i was wondering if there would be any difference since the clutches appear to be physically thicker than stock.
or for about 475 i could pick up an os giken twin plate unit with 90% of the clutch's left (disc are 3.8mm thick brand new thickness is 4.0mm)

I've never really used HKS stuff, I had a turbo kit form them on my Skyline that I paid through the nose on before I new any better. But I buy from other manufacturers now.
So...why did I post, I dunno, how you doin today John? Go with SPEC, they work simply awsome.

i agree with the RPS
but since when do sr clutch fit on the ka? i guess it jsut if the pressure plate bolts up?
i know the fidanza friction surface is the same for sr and ka. the ka uses the inner part of the surface (9" clutch disc) and the sr uses the outer part (9.5" clutch disc).
can you confirm that the sr clutch works on a ka flywheel? the bigger surface holds alot more power

i would only use a multi plate clutch on a race car. those things are noisey and usually have a very on or off type of feel which makes it a beotch to try and use on a street car.they don't last as long as a conventional full faced single plate clutch.the clattering noise is what really gets me. it sounds like the transmission is busted or something and gets really annoying.

the hks clutches are unsprung discs and the os giken is a sprung hub. My brother has an orc (ogura racing)twin disc one his car (88 FC vert)and the pedal feel is phenominal it is amazing streetable. Don't quote me b/c im obviously not a master on multidisk clutches but i believe its because the pressure plate doesn't have to push as much force b/c you have tons more surface area on the clutch due to the extra disks.
Also for those who don't know, flywheels are paret of a multi disc clutch b/c the flywheel has "bosses" that the steel plates thats sit between the clutch disks.

I'm certain you probably could get the SR clutch to bolt onto the KA, but the problem then becomes getting the starter to mesh properly with the ring gear on the flywheel.

Dammit WD you talked me into a spec but as he said above ^^^ What stage would you recomend i plan on running a super 60 t3 at 12 -15 lbs maybe a little lower and eventually stepping up to gt30r or something ballbearing with smooth power . I'm looking to build my car as balanced as i can smooth power w/ no lag (i want spool 2500 - 3000ish if it could pull to redline great but i doubt i will find a turbo) and im goign to work the hell out of suspension.
