I recently installed my hks hiper exhaust system , on my s14, I never though of it being so loud with headers. Anybody else using the same set up, on their car?

i have a hks hiper but no headers, do the headers make it a lot louder? It sounds perfect now. not too loud, not too quiet.

mine is just loud, I don’t know if gonna get quieter or louder quieter?, on the long run. My friends has the apex N1, but with no headers, I‘ve heard the apex was supposed to be louder then the hiper? But we did a little test, and his didn’t even come close to being as loud then mine. I’m thinking is the header making it sound so loud. Now I have to drive all gingerly, and **** trying to ovoid cops

must be those headers then. tone changes are usually noted with header installs on other vehicles

edit:wait a minute, what's the differences between the two systems? i noticed it was mentioned that one does not have a cat system. Does the Apex have a cat? My experience has been that a hiflow cat is almost always louder then the hiflow muffler.

i personally think it would be overly loud. I have a apexi n1 single (ka for now , turbo later) and i took out the cat and put in a test pipe. It was Overly loud to me and it didnt sound that good. Also if you guys saw my thread in the general section entitled "so i got pulled over lastnight" it talks about my expeirence with the cops and just the n1 exhaust with the cat back in. Its been alot of bs so far to deal with.

I just put on my HKS Hiper last thursday and lovin it since, and I planed on getting the Hot Shot headers soon too. Couldnt you just put a real cat where that fake cat is to quite it down??

Installing the Hot Shot header forces to remove the cat? That shouldn't be, I mean, it's supposed to be a bolt-on mod.

Please elaborate, I'm planning on a header soon and don't want to loose the cat.
