after all the trouble. I installed the hi power couple days ago. been driving these couple days.

every time i install something new. there are always problem. so is this time.

Whenever I hit a bump. I heard some kinda of clunking noise from the rear. (driver side). My first though was the exhaust hitting the underbody of my car. I am not sure. I tried to look at it. tried to find some marks. nothing. I am still using the rubber hangers and used hose clamp to tighten them.

my second though was could it be my subframe that's making noise?

my car is 1995 240sx se

3 inches piping with 3 inches high flow cat

i need your help.. thanks

If your car is lowered then you will have to go over bumps (speed, pot holes, etc.) at an angle. At least that's what I have to do. Other than that I don't know what it could be. Maybe someone else will chime in. Good luck.Josh

Are all the hangers on? You should be able to grab the exhaust (when it's cool) and shake it to see if it feels loose. Also it might be good idea to crawl under the car and take a look at the hangers. Sometimes they slide around.

sounds like the exhaust is bounching around a bit.

I have hit the can on my rear bumber a few times going over little mumps too fast. But about 3-4 times a day I drag the can, can support bracket, resonator, or the resonator support bracket over something. Makes a lovely CHA-CHANG GRIND noise. Glad I bought the stainless steel and not the Ti HiPower so I am f'ing up a $700 exhaust instead of a $1200 one

have you tryed shaking it when its cold just to see if you produce the noise?...i know my HI Pwr exhaust bolted right on without any problem and perfect clearence...same car as you too. I am more inclined to think its eather your 3" cat that has somehow changed the way all the pipes fit or if your car is lowered your grinding it on the ground. also if its getting too much play, are the hangers old and spongy?

the top of the tip/canister is hitting part of the metal body behind the bumper cover there... mine does it in bumpy parking decks/over speed bumps. I wouldnt worry about it unless it really pisses you off, if it does you can get some header wrap and cover the metal area behind the bumper cover that it hits.
