i have a lead on one of these used for 600 bucks, and was curious if it would fit on the stock manifold (as far as clearance goes), and if i would need new oil and coolant lines, also, i will be running 450cc injectors, bout how much boost would i be able to run safely with this turbo, and then finally, anyone willing to make me a bin file i can burn to a chip for 450c injectors, z32 maf, and this turbo.

it is rated for ~320hp

It's essentially a T28, so I would ASSUME it would clear, but to be honest, I don't know that many of us have too much experience with HKS turbos. If it won't clear the stock mani, you could get the SSAC mani and it'd definatly clear.

Depending on your cash flow I'd suggest investing in an EPROM emulator like the Romulator or any of the other ones and burning your own chip.

I have a CA w/ 450 dsms and a Z32 MAF and it took a lot of work to make it run properly, simply loading live edit, setting the injectors to 450 and the maf to Z32 didn't work.

$600 for a GT-SS?!?!?!?! You realize that is a $2200 turbo, right? Are you sure that it is not blown and a REAL GT-SS? That is a sick deal!!!!

itll fit. you can modify (bend) your stock oil and coolant lines to fit as well. that is quite the sick deal, as rico said. i would be on that like oprah on a chicken wing.

just checked it out. one thing youll have to do is fab up some kind of outlet pipe for the turbo, as it has a 2-bolt outlet instead of the 3-bolt that the stock turbo and most t28s have. other than that it should be no problem.

yeah, its hot. i would totally buy it. and i guess i was wrong about the 2 bolt compressor outlet. i looked at a kit for a rb and i guess they are slightly different

one thing, buy 2 manifold to turbo gaskets. the compressor housing seems to be identical to mine and it will need a few mm of extra clearance to clear the stock manifold. no problem really, but just so you know.

Damn, I had the RS and SS backwards in my head, lol. $1200 is HKS MSRP. But still, that is a killer turbo, and a killer deal. I still hate you

i'm picking it up this friday.

any idea how much boost i can safely run on 450cc injectors?

i have a wideband on the way to make sure everything is in order.

also, i have heard that those hks wastegate actuators are adjustable, is that true?

Yes, that actuator is adjustable. The rod threads in and out of the arm. Just to make sure you know, it WON'T boost any lower then about 11psi IIRC. I don't know how high you can go, but I wouldn't go much past 14psi w/o an electronic boost controller.

got it on, no filing or clocking or anything special to get it to work other than bending the oil feed line a little (that line is is a biatch) and slotting the drain tube flange.

can't wait to get the motor in

PLease, post some pics of this progress!! Quiet tantilizing.

Also, might I recommend you upgrade to Stainless steel turbo lines while you have space to do em?? I had so much freaking problem with that damn oil line I just went ahead and ordered a set from Taka. Plus, you never know with those hard lines when they might break.

Good luck

thanks for all the complements, i'll try and take some pics tomorrow, it just Barley clears my manifold, like by a millimeter or so. can't wait to get the engine in the car, just need to attach the transmission, paint the engine bay and stab it in.

i am shooting for ~280 to the wheels, maybe more, maybe less, just not sure how far i want to push it on our 91 octane we have here, the closest gas station with 93 is like a 20 minute drive, and most of the gas stations in oklahoma only have 91.
