I am trying to find out what turbo I have. It was polished so there is no numbers on the front anymore, It has HKS on the front, and Garrett on the back.

The fella I got everything from cant remember exactly what turbo it is, said its either a GT37 or 38 (EX. GT2871) but cant remember the 2nd number, with something close to a .70 AR. and its ball bearing.

Anyone familiar with these turbos and can think of what it may be? Its massive, near 46lbs.

Thanks,Dan : )

Christ! 46 lbs?! That is like a friggin T88 sized turbo. My T4Z only weighs 19lbs and I think that is a little too big for the RB25, especially a stocker.

The guy had pics on his blackberry he showed me while i was looking at engine (turbo and what not were at his house) the inlet was the size of a cd. He said its a 2,200$ turbo.

He said it was rated at 600hp, if that helps any?

for that size, and only rated at 600hp it doesn't sound very efficient... AKA horrible spool times and not so great flow.

FYI a $2,200 turbo that only supports 600 hp better spool up at 1000 rpms. Otherwise, I'll be leaving it in the philosophical dust by 4000 rpms and have $500 in my pocket left over.

I just gotta wait and get the pics to know for sure : ) The fella was not the most informed from his seller. He got the engine from another guy, didn't even receive all the parts yet and just bought a skyline.

If i do not get pics tonight, I will have all the parts tomorrow and can take pics my self.

either way, i got the whole swap cheap, so its all good to me : ) everything minus mounts and drive shaft.
