What's up, Sky?

Sorry, can't comment on this muffler. I can't afford HKS stuff, so I just have to deal with the cheap Borla system I've got on my car! I take it you're looking for an exhaust?

well, i'm debating on whether or not to get a nice stainless steel muff from some name-brand company(like 5zigen, or Apexi) and having custom 2.5 piping put on ....i've heard a lot of pro's and con's about it. Such as the pipings will rust (which, can't u get stainless steel piping from Borla?) and that the exhaust will sound like a bee in a coffee can..............common responses, but then again people tell me that if i get a 5zigen or HKS, Apexi or anything else along those lines ... it's just bragging rights

i just want to save money but have something last as long as the car

Hey,

Keep in mind that just because something is cheaper, doesn't mean that you will save any money in the long run. Full stainless is the way to go if you want the system to last as long as the car. It isn't necessarily cheap though. What is your budget?

I was just kidding about the Borla exhaust. I love it! Often! J/k. It is quiet at idle, sounds great at WOT, and doesn't drone like many systems out there. It is a pretty low profile exhaust as well. It doesn't hang down and would not be confused with a fart can. And it definitely doesn't sound like one either.

The only place I know of that sells them currently is Courtesy Nissan. http://www.courtesynissan.com Let us know what you decide to go with!:peace

I own that exact HKS Sport exhaust system on my 90 coupe. The tips are actually larger than pictured, but not by a whole lot, and they dont shoot straight out of the muffler: the muffler sits kinda high (maybe an inch?) and the tips kinda drop down then come out. Looking at it from behind you cant tell tho. Looks good. The only thing i can complain about is that i installed it myself and its not exactly straight. But i think its because i have the muffler bracket backwards. Anyone know which way the arrow on that bracket points? Towards the front or the back of the car? I think i have it pointing towards the front of the car, but swapping it means loosening all the bolts and basically reinstalling it. I'll wind up having to do that anyway, just wondering if i have that bracket on right.

mmmm, anyway i can have that exhaust installed on a 98 240 ? Without having any major mods done by outside shops.

I really like the look of that muffler compared with the single 4" tip ones.

I helped a guy install the r2 on his s13. He also put hotshot headers on. It sounded really nice. Quiet but low note. I'm pretty sure they don't make them anymore though. I think the guy said he got the last one locally.

i ripped this pic off of enjukuracing.com, so i think they still have 'em around...i really like the borla exhaust, repo man, is it a dual tip muffler? And is it compatible for the s13?my budget is under $400 including installation, or it depends how much the installation will be...eh

i still don't see what's wrong with a custom exhaust, the only bad thing being the experimentation aspect of it, as for rusting, there's always stainless steel or a can of some rust protection stuff

Sky,

Yes, the Borla exhaust is a dual-tip design. It works really well with the PDM dump pipe replacing the cat. It also looks great when you hit it with some good metal polish.

This exhaust is made for the S13. My car is a '92 240 notch. It uses the factory mounting hangers.

Any other 240 owners in your area that could help you install it for no $$$? Where are you located?

Andy
