I am in the market for camshafts for the sr and have already decided on HKS. What I want to know is what ones to get. I have a stock setup with basic bolt-ons (catback, dp, intake and fmic kit). I am somewhat leaning towards the step2 cams. But what duration to get?? what has worked the best for you?

I have HKS Stage 2 camshafts going into my motor --- 264 degree 11.5mm lift on intake and 272 degree 11.5mm lift on exhaust side; however, I'm looking to put 400+ at the wheels. Just remember that the stage 2's from HKS you'll need to buy aftermarket valve springs while the stage 1's are a direct drop-in.

What's your future plans? How much hp you looking for? I would just go with the step ones for daily driving.

The bigger the degree and the lift the higher the power band but lower low-mid range power. You don't want to have an overkill camshaft setup that gives you all the power in the high rpm ranges when you're planning to upgrade to a big turbo anyway as they're already laggy. In my view, big turbo + step ones = very good daily driver with a wide powerband.
