Man, I just got done cleaning up my used old as hell HKS BOV. Not the newer style but the older SBOV(not the ss) and it turned some funky black chrome color. This is ghetto. Im not happy.:help

If it is aluminum polish, it will turn the metal black. Just take a clean rag and wipe it off.... all shiney and blingtacular.

Nope, I used simple green. I know about polishiing since I do Camcovers and ICs all the time(Im talking compound and Die grider with buffing pad,Blinging stuff) . Im thinking that it was just the plating used since simple green is very agresive and the plating was sub. I think that some parts are plastic and the main Aluminum bosy got plated the same way. Thats the problem with older parts, Once you get em you gotta restore em.

Yeah, the early style HKS SQV has parts that are made of plastic, however I don't remember what exactly was plastic. They aren't known for holding a lot of boost, and it's pretty common for them to leak.
