i recently purchased an hks ssqv and installed it on my sr20det blacktop. my brother had the exact same bov on his turbo mr2. it had a nice sound of 1 bursts of air. when i bought the sr20 it had a turbonetics raptor of it that made the fluttering sound that some bovs do. when i installed the hks it sounded the same as the raptor? why didnt my brothers hks sound the same as mineeven though they are the same. the only differenc i can think of is that the mr2 had to be recirculated and the sr does not. would this make such a drastic difference in sound? thank you.

the ssqv is pretty loud when its not recirc..... why dont you take the recirc off your bros car and block off the pipe hole... and see if the sounds the same.

Is your carbon canister still in the car? My SSQV did the same thing until I took the carbon canister out. Now its way loud. (not the compressure surge sound, but the chrip or whatever you want to call the SSQV sound)
