hello everybody well graduation is coming up and i got some grants and scholarships "basically i don't have tuition" so i am biting the bullet and getting a g35 coupe auto. so i was reading Edmund and K.B.B and all of there reviews were talking about the brakes and rotors.they said the brakes wear very quickly and u have to replace the rotors every year. i also want to know what should i look out for any specific thing.

honestly after i read all those review I started to when first saw this car in 2004 i know this was the car i wanted but those reviews crushed my world.

so basically i am looking for reliability i figured if i buy a newer car that i would have peace of mind because my 91 prelude with 235whp ain't cuttin

dood... forget school and all that "high education" bull****

Get the G and use whatever money you have to pay for it and mods...

School is overrated man! I'm a college student right now and the only reason I'm still here is because the women are great!

LOL, k well don't take what I just said seriously...

but do get the G, it's an amazing vehicle and will probably be one of the best investments you'll make. If you are going to get a used G, make sure that you check it over thoroughly

Here is my .02 from an old farht

If your 91 prelude is still running and in good shape, keep it.

If not get a Honda or something cheaper while you save until you can afford a new G

In this present economy you don't want to expose yourself to high automobile costs.

Go find that other G spot

telcoman thanks for the advice

yea that lude has been my on-going project for 2 years. like i stated below it has about 235whp and planing to build the motor and be pushing at least 350whp and not very practical the gearing for this car is too short i will be crusin 70mph at 4000rpm and be in 5th gear.

i understand were your coming from "u being old and all that" but u know how mother are they worry too much and the fact that my car is turbocharged if anything does happen i will be screwed. well the G was on the top of my list but i still got the rsx type s and prelude to go

and by the way i have about 5g down

+1 from me

I graduated last year, and stuck with my 96 intrepid for as long as i could, waited until i was settled with a job, and the intrepid was sounding weird, so i went car shopping

then i got laid off, but hey, landed on my feet for the time being

I purchased an 06 coupe with 22K less than two weeks ago and immediately noticed I had a brake vibration when braking hard from freeway speeds. Took it to the dealer and it needed pads on all four wheels and front rotors needed replacing. Granted mine has the 19" wheel package and sport suspension so I'm sure the previous owner took advantage of the car's performance potential(just as I likely will) but the dealer did say that once the front rotors are out of spec, they have to be replaced on this car. Good luck on the decision.

i think the 03 and 04s with Brembo brakes, were the ones with that issue. Mine is a 2007 G-35 Coupe and the brakes are OEM, and they can last as long as 8 months ot one year if driven normally. The Coupe has a lot of weight and the pads are soft, so it is not unusual to imagine why the brakes wear out quickly. With a good mechanic, you can probably get at lest 2 turns on the front rotor before rpelacement. On everythingG35, which sponsors this forum, you can get a set of front pads for about $50, and the same amount for rear pads. But generally, you have to be somewhat financially stable in order to own a G. So, stick with the car you have until you are able to afford G-35.

The G35 with small brakes, that wear out in 18 to 25k, are all sedans, 03 and 04, and 05 awd models, and all automatic 03 and 04 coupes. If you want to get a first generation G35, get one with a production date after march of 04, these don't have the recalls and some of the known issues on the older cars.

I don't go to Greenville Tech, but a bunch of my friends do (including my friend who posed for Playboy )

I do go to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

If you don't mind me asking, if you live in NC... why are you going to G-ville tech?
