I just replaced the clutch in my 93 hatch and finally reached the 400-500 mile break in period. The first time i push it in first i get to 5200rpm and it hits rev limiter!! If its not hitting the limiter it sure sounds and feels like it. And why its all the sudden hitting at 5200 is beyond me. Any advice would be helpful, im not too sure what to do about it besides disconnecting the limiter.

umm i know when yur in 4th or 5th gear or any gear im not..that when yu have the clutch in all the way..it pushes a button and limits it at 5200 and when my car does it all this black smoke pours out cus the extra fuel or w/e...but im thinkin whoever did the clutch may have disconnected this or connected terminals somewhere and it makin it "act like the clutch is in electronically" but thats my 2 cent..

I had this very same problem, car would hit the rev limiter at 5,200 in gear, out of gear, any gear, didnt matter.

Turned out I had a short in my 5th gear position sensor wiring and the ECU thought I was constantly in 5th gear, I snipped my speedo sensor, 4th gear, and 5th gear position sensor wires at the ECU to get rid of the governer altogether and it's been fine ever since. just pull a pinout diagram, try snipping the 5th gear position sensor to test and trying to pass the 5,2k limit in first or second gear. I dont like revving my motor that high without a load on it but you're welcome to try that too.
