I would like to know what would be the best option for a hitch bike rack that can hold 3 bikes on my 09 Rogue? I plan on carrying 1 men's, 1 woman's and 1 child's mtn bikes on it. I would also like to be able to still open my hatch without taking the bikes off. I still need to buy a hitch but not sure what size I need to hold 3 bikes? Thanks

Ok, the answer depends on the details of your hitch. What is your receiver size? What class is your hitch? Once you have those details you can go to Thule and plug it in to find the best options. http://www.thule.com/en-us/us

I currently do not have a hitch but I am being told that I should get a 2". I just want to know what is the best option for a rack that holds 3 bikes including a child's bike and that tilts so I do not need to remove the bikes to get in the cargo area.

Sounds like good advice. Go with a Class III hitch http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2009_Niss ... -Class_III

9031 Vertex Swing 4 Bike MSRP: $399.95
This new hitch rack’s unique arc design makes it easier to load and unload, provides better ground clearance and gives you greater distance between your bikes for easy transport. Swing-away feature makes for easy rear of vehicle access.

I checked out the 9031 vertex bike rack but I live in Canada and it retails for $480.00 plus shipping which is more then what I want to pay. I was hoping to get a good one that tilts for around $200

I have a curt hitch class III . It has a 2"inch opening. I use it with my Yakima Double down bike rack. It tilts back and you can easily open up your hatch.
i'll try to take some pics of my setup this weekend...

Thanks for that! Any pix and install tips/advice would be great! I Googled the bike rack info and found they have a really sweet 4 bike carrier. http://www.amazon.com/Yakima-DoubleDown ... B0012SBVSY

Thanks looks like a nice rack but as stated previously I live in Canada and the Yakima rack is $450 here. I would like to get one for around $200-250 CAD. If someone can find one for this price please send me the link or maybe I will need to skip over the border and get one. Thanks

Dude, are you saying Amazon has an 80% mark-up for sales to Canada? I checked http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/ $250USD = $241.742CAD Maybe I'm missing something?

No I was saying the double down rack was double the price on amazon see http://www.amazon.ca/Yakima-DoubleDown- ... Mount+Rack

Not sure why if this is much different from the bighorn rack.

I am living in Canada as well and last year I purchased a hitch mounted bike rack from Canadian Tire. It is made by SportRack, which is own by Thule. Similar quality, affordable price. Honestly, you don't have to pay extra just for a THULE sticker.

I used it a lot and very satisfied.

You are lucky. They are on sale now: http://www.canadiantire.ca/search/searc ... 4396672077

Note: When you buy a THULE, you generally have to pay extra to buy additional locking knobs. With my SportRack, they were in the box. It is worth $ 100

Okay I will consider the Sportrack. Seems good for the price. Do you know if this will hold a child's and woman's bike?

I am using this rack:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4 ... ?locale=en

The hooks are adjustable. So you can adjust the hook according to the frame. It doesn't matter if it is a woman's or child's or man's bike. I am using for my bike and my wife's bike without a problem. But I didn't use it for a kid's bike.
