I just installed a Draw-Tite #75902 from etrailer.com.
They have 4-5 hitches available for the 2014 Rogue. Website said that this hitch was the longest.
The hitch pin hole is 5" behind the end of the bumper.
When buying an accessory to attach you should measure tongue length. If it is less than 5 1/2" from hitch pin hole to where the vertical part starts, you may need an extension.

Then I added a Cargo Carrier from Harbor Freight, $99. Aluminum approx. inside 49x22"
The tongue is a perfect length, there is about 3" from the bumper to the cargo tray, enough room to reach the hitch pin.
The Cargo Carrier is about 12" above the ground.

I don't think I have to unless I block tail lights.

I haul a lawn mower to mow at my rentals.

And gear for vacations.

Wiring harnesses are about $60 at etrailer, plus $25 for lights.
Is there any easier or cheaper way of adding lights to the cargo tray?

Let me know if you install an after-market wiring harness, which one you use, and how it was installed. That is one of the next steps I need to do now that I have my hitch on. I also have a basket rack with brake lights installed. Big believer in the brake lights for the rack. If there is an accident and you have lights that are no, excuses the other party can make. Now understand I live in Southern California.

I'm really interested in this as it is way cheaper than the parts offered at the dealership and I think the one from the dealership is only a class I. This is my first SUV and a buddy of mine was telling me that sometimes the OEM parts for a hitch have a better fit for the vehicle and on his endeavor, he developed a rattle where his aftermarket hitch was too close to his exhaust. Any concern with fit issues such as this? Otherwise I think I want to pull the trigger as I was wanting a cargo carrier just like that.

I have a number of 2in accessories so I installed a Curt Mfg 2in (http://www.curtmfg.com/part/13168) and the wiring kit (http://www.curtmfg.com/part/56033) both work great. The wiring was easy to install. I did not run the power to the front as the instructions suggested, I ran it to the Lighter outlet in the trunk since I had the panel off anyway. As for the 4 pin wire harness, there are plenty of holes (covered in black tape or rubber grommets) around the spare to get you under the floor to get to your hitch. Trying to keep a professional look, I installed a bracket to hold to hold the electrical receptacle (https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-an ... 18149.html).

Hitch - 20 Min install. Instructions say to remove the plastic air damns, I just cut a 4 x 4in square on the one side and installed them back in.
Wiring - 45 Min Install. Biggest problem was making sure I got all the screws and took my time taking plastics off. Once that was done the rest was easy.
Feed Wire and Install the mounting bracket for 4 pin Connector - 20 min. Of that 15 min was fiddling with the zip ties as they kept slipping out of my fingers.

You can get all these from etrailer.com I believe (mine were sourced from Ebay and Pepboys). E-Trailer has installation videos on Youtube.
