My 05 G35X got hit on the driver side rear quarter panel recently in a parking lot at work and it has started to rust. There is the main gash that is about 8 inches long and below an area with a 3 inch diameter that looks as if it is bubbling, plus other scratches. I've went to a few auto body shops and was quoted 1000-1300 to repair or 3500 to replace. The place who said they would replace, said they wouldn't repair anything with rust as it would just come back 4-5 months later even if it's buffed out. What are your guys opinions, i would like to keep driving the car for another 5-10 years, but don't really have the cash to pay the $3500 for the new one with blending and paint and labor and parts :S Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

You can repair rust without it coming back, look at all the shops that do restorations. They seem to accomplish it. Sux about the hit and run.
