So this giant RV ran me over yesterday while I was merging on the freeway then drove off. The damage isn't horrendous, but I wanted to see what you people think it would cost to fix. On the driver's side behind the door there are a few light white scratches about 5inches long (btw, I got a white coupe). Then on the wheel well thers a little pinched dent thats cracked, it's like hairline, but I notice it and can't stand it. Then some small scratches a bit past the well whell. The scrathes don't look very deep, but I can't stand to look at it.

Any estimates on how much it will cost? Also, how will they go about fixing this?

Thanks for any suggestions and thoughts.

Sorry this happen, poor coupe

Well what is your deductible. 500 bucks, it sounds like more than 500 dollars damage.

Yeah my deductable is $500. So you think they'll have to replace the entire rear panel? That panel is massive.

Lol sorry no pics yet, I left my camera at home. I'll post them later for a better idea of the scratches.

its not replacing it, what a shop does is take off the whole panel and undent/get rid of any scratches but that requires messing up the paint, which is why the whole panel has to be repainted. If you were to get a brand new panel it would be A LOT more money.

Oh I see. But it's not really a dent, more of like a crack. It's hard to describe, but it looks like it got pinched together then cracked open a bit. It's pretty small, but visible.

Wow sorry about your car.

I was just thinking... the guy just drove off??? I mean... I was not in your situation so I dont know but if the impact wasnt that hard and only damages were scratches and was able to drive ... I would've chased him down, call 911 and report his RV and plate number.

Anyway... glad you're ok and it could've been worse.

That guy's a$$hole though. I just hate hit and run.
