I was driving home from work tonight and in one of the dark roads i saw an armadillo crossing the road, tried to avoid hitting it by passiing on top of it (it should have enough clearance between the wheels), but unfortunately i heard a big "THUMP" in the rear wheels and next thing you know my car went dead (so did the poor animal:() It felt like it ran out of gas, i gave it gas but nothing. i tried to restart it and it will start but die immediately, again like it's out of gas. I got out, checked to see if there was any gas leaking, thinking i might have a loose fuel line, but there is no leak. It's too dark to see anything right now, so i just need some ideas on what to look for tomorrow. Is there a second fuel filter down there? Can the fuel pump be damaged if you hit the fuel tank hard enough? I don't know what the f*ck happened.

Maybe it's the armadillo's ghost having it's revenge.....:devil

I would check the fuel line from tank up. Other than that I think the starter is on the bottom of the car up front, but that wouldn't explain why your car died. I doubt though that it messed up your fuel pump. Just look for scrap marks from the animal tomorrow. The first weekend I bought my s14 I hit a deer on the highway, lucky for me someone had just hit it and it was lying on the ground. Goodluck man

I would imagine that there's a elec connection or fuel line that got ripped apart when you hit the lil' dude. Already suggested, but check for scrape marks...

Good Luck!John

Yeah, it's pretty funny i guess, especially now that i fixed the problem. Turns out the animal hit the gas tank, but from the impact my coil wire went loose, causing the shut down. All i had to do was push the wire back in it's place. I'll definately have to keep my eyes open next time i drive by that road, i heard the armadillo's cousin is a marine and he's looking to kick my @ss LOL
