Hissing Noise

Same thing here on 2001 Qx4 - whining / pulsating noise after shutting off car coming from fuel tank area- lasts for 10 minutes or so and stops if you remove the gas cap. Read somewhere it's a sensor or valve of some sort and not to get too worried about it... unless it starts to wake the neighbors at night.
