hissing noise 2800rpm+

Ok i finally made an account, The other night driving home i get on my street and i hear a hiss, it went a way so i thought nothing of it. Tonight I went to drive my car and come to the realization once the car warms up anything over 2800rpm i get a hiss, and it gets louder.. any ideas? i searched and nothing really helped.

car is completely stock. no real hesitation.

Hmm hard to say, could be a belt hiss, or a vacuum leak, but I would think a vacuum leak would affect performance.

yeah it sorta sounds like a belt slipping. but kinda not. I'll check tomorrow since its -27* outside right now. way to cold to check in the dark haha

outToWin...what about a failed gasket ither the headgasket steamin coolant...or the intake gasket..what ya think..

check your coolent levels..that will be an indicator benz88....but you might wana run it to operating temp with the hood open and take a look too..

its gone away, which is weird. me and a few nissan friends seem to think a vacuum line or exhaust leak. oh well.

When the bearings in my alternator took a dump it made a crazy hissing sound that made people think i had a turbo in the car. Maybe something to think about, or not.

can you hear where its coming from? if its anywere under you or behind you id have to go with exhaust leak.and any vacuum leak loud enough to hear in your car would probably keep your engine from running
