hissing in fuel pump

I swapped out a fuel pump in a 1994 q45. All was fine with the humming, that's normal. I had less than 1/2 a tank and all was normal. Then when i put more than half a tank i get this hissing sound I had just put some air in my tires too and though that I ran over a nail from the sound. What could this be?

Do you smell gas? I would guess possibly a small leak around the o-ring where the pump assembly bolts into the tank - especially if you didn't replace the o-ring during replacement.

Thanks for the response. No I didn't replace the O ring, and there is no gas smell. It just sounds like someone is spraying an aerosol can. But I'll do a check and get back.
