Rear passenger speaker this morning rendered an electrical beep and pop that repeated over and over. I assume its the output capacitor in the amp. I disconnected the speaker lead in the trunk and the rest of the system sounds fine.

Where is the amp located and does any one recall where I send it for repair? Thanks!!! (sorry I know this has been posted, but I was unable to find it).

If it's anything like the J30, the amp is on top of the speaker magnet.

On my J30, it looks like a black, roundish, plastic cup sitting over the magnet. The speaker leads plug into the amp. The amp then has a set of leads connecting to the speaker itself. Again, I'm talking about the J30. The Q-gurus will reply soon and correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe Bose can do the repair. I had my head unit done at one of the internet-based BOSE repair shops and I'm very pleased.

Do a search on here, it's been discussed many times.

Yes, the Q amp is in the same location, and it wired the same.

I do not know if it is the same amp, or not.

Try asking this question, in the stereo forum.

Two down from "Infiniti General" under "Nico General"... wouldn't say it's that active. Aus94Q45 - I'd have Bose fix it for $75.00 - I have an old post back in here somewhere that has the number to call.

There was a recall on the rears for certain gen 1 Q's. Might want to check with Infiniti customer service to see if you qualify or if it was done already

I'm pretty sure the recall was on '92's and maybe '91's also.

i dont think so as these came from a maxima and they worked fine in my J. I believe all bose 6x9s for nissans/infinitis have the same amps.

If Bose did their howework, then the frequency response of the amplifier should be different for every application.

That is the raison d'etre for doing amplifying each speaker separately.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

When we lost, and then re-gained the "Quick Menu" on the side, the Car Audio forum wasn't part of it when it came back :(.

Go to http://www.carstereohelp.com.

It is Factory Car Stereo Repair, Inc. Authorized bose specialist. You won't be dissapointed.

They fixed my head unit, LCD display quite working. They also checked it for other things skipping, etc and put a new power button on it without me even asking and the price was very reasonable. Turn-around time is about 8 days.

I would recommend these guys to anyone. Good luck.

I have a 1990 Q45 and I just called Bose for a RMA to get my four speakers rebuilt. The price is still $75 each. The person that I spoke to is Patty Bolac and her telephone number is 508-766-9522. She was very helpful.

Front and rear amps have different equalizer components [12 plus an IC] to deal with different speakers and different interiors.....Each car and model is different. 1990 and 1991-1993 are different, as are 1994-1996.
