Hi peoples, Its my very first post. I presently own a 1998 integra type r with some mods but unfortunatly selling it for a 1997 nissan 240sx se. With the massive amount of cash I will have left from the trade, here are the setup id like to built( Im on a budget so no hot stuff, more custom). Since im not a nissan guru, id like to have some input on the setup. The car is a 1997 240 sx se all equiped with 5 lugs, 16 inch stock wheels, with oem side skirt and spoiler. Here are the setup id like to have, im not a big fan of look so most of the mods will be performance oriented, beside a good suspention setup.

motor swap and mods:

-sr20det s13 black top full swap with transmission/lsd and ecu, jdm drive shaft etc...- custom huge front mount intercooler with 2.5 inch piping- blitz bov- custom equal length manifold- garrett t3/60-1 turbo with 60trim and .82ar- tial 35mm external wastegate- custom 3 inch dp and full catless exhaust- apexi power fc with commander and boost controller- nismo 550cc injectors- walboro 255lph fuel pump- z32 mafs upgrade- k&n cone filter- act 6 puck with extreme plate clutch with lighter flywheel( what is the best clutch to support 400hp)

I want to run low 12 on drag radial around 18psi of booststreet setup will be 12psi and race betwwen 18-22 depending on tuning

suspention:

full coil over like zeal b2 ( what is a good setup for 240sx?)

that about it, i want to run like mid 11 on slick and 18-22psi of boost

will the setup be enough to reach my expectation, what are the part I should add or replace. Is the power fc a good tuning system?

and pls show me some of your s14 with sr20det and list your mods

Everything seems fine, you shouldnt have a problem hitting your goal. Why not just get a stand alone or HKS Fcon so that many of your sensors can just be taken out. I assume your aiming for drag only. And welcome, pretty much everyone I know here who has an SR (including myself) has an S13.

as for the f-con, or other fuel manegement system, I decided to go power fc since im on a budget and i know that I can get a good power fc+ commander for around 800$ used especially on ebay. How much is a hks f-con pro?? If more then 1500$, its way out of my budjet

how does the t3/60-1 react with the sr20det, will it be a laggy turbo?

and for suspention, what is the best set up for around 1000-1400$( I know zeal b2 are about 1200$ and ive also seen a couple of hks coil over system go for less then 1000$ on ebay)

what if I decide to use something like haltech ek6??

is haltech as good as the power fc, ive heard that its very user friendly

so haltech ek6 or power fc?

is haltech going to enable a couples of sensors?

Yes, a T3/60-1 will be laggy.

The haltech is more user friendly than the power fc, although now you may wish to look into getting an E11 rather than a E6K.

in term of tuning comparaison, is the haltech ek6 have more option then the apexi power fc.

the price are comparable, although haltech with the ebc and 3 bar map sensor option is slightly more expensive.

what is the bang for the buck?

Ive heard that supra injectors are side feed like the sr20, does that mean that I can use supra 550cc injectors?

ive reed a little about the haltech ek6 and the problem is that I have to rewire to the ecu+ you have to install all the sensors to the engine, this is too complicated for me....I might just choose the power fc with boost option and a z32 mafs, cheaper and simpler.

just have to find a good tuner ithat can tune the fc on a dyno, any one know a good tuner close to ottawa or toronto, canada

Anyway, I've got a couple of great deals on Ebay and have never been burned so I'm not as skeptical as some people are. although big things (like a car I was gonna buy) I check in advance. I guess you just have to be smart about it...

Well my sarcasm was aimed more towards the topic of building a project 11 second car.....and then using ebay as your basis for prices/parts....and everyone's on a 'budget'....

Tell us what your 'budget' is, and your goal (i see thats in the first post), and we can help you, thats our job : ), but without that info, its hard to tell you what you need.

I am a fan of shopping on ebay...done it many times, but I would never use it for the source for all of my parts. If I happen to find a great deal, so be it but I'm not gonna sit around waiting for something that I need to appear on ebay so I can save $100 - $200. Building a fast car and budget never go together and when they do, you get neon lights, poorly made unpainted body kits and gigantic metal spoilers.

edit: no offense to I H8....when I posted that your car was in the middle of my screen and I noticed that your front bumper isn't painted (or is painted the wrong color)

its an unpainted 92 front bumper on my 89....i had a body kit on the car previouslyl, when i cared about how it 'looked', now im just waiting for my silvia conversion to come, then the whole car can be painted......my black bumper matches my black rims, and black sr20det wise *** : P hehe

ps, i have an unpainted body kit, and a metal spoiler in my garage thats for sale if anyone with an S13 wants it : ) otherwise, it WILL be going on ebay in the next month or two...

my car is just a beater/drift car/have fun/sleeper : ) its no supra, or S14, but it goes where it has to....kinda quick at the same time : D

If building a fast car and exterior have no relation what so ever, why do the ricers think that by putting stickers and giant wings on their car they are adding horsepower Why put the spoiler on ebay within the next month or two...why not asap

my car looks good but not ricey sidewayz is fun .. the only ricey part is the foglights kinda but they have to be there .... the sr is in the garage and then i will be happy .. but u gotta love the cool guys riding round w/ the apc sticker and dont even know what the hell it is ...lol ..that happen to me one time i asked the guy what he had apc .. his response ... the sticker.. hahahah .. daunt.. u rollin ka.. i thouhgt u were the bird man on the motors.. and u dont even have one ..????? i am still rollin ka to.. i gotta get a job
