OK so today I parked my car at the Subway to grab some lunch. I come out and notice this tiny little speck on the passenger door. I looked closer and sure enough the damn metal is visible, about 1mm round.

I thought back a little and I remembered hearing/seeing some small debris the other day fly into the car. Couldn't tell at the time and then forgot to check when it was brighter, but I think this was the gift it left me. Dammmit!!!! It was like every damn piece of crap on the road was flying toward my car, I could swear I counted 3 times crap was flying around my car or hitting it in some way. Stupid I-35.... stupid blown tires, stupid pebbles... Gah. This is why I hate driving new cars around...

It's so tiny I can barely notice it, but knowing it's there is gonna drive me nuts. What's a good way to at least cover it up? I don't think with the amount of highway driving I do that it'll be worth the expense of getting it refinished, but at least preventing it from spreading or chipping more or rusting, what're some good options?

yeah, it happens. I was pissed the other day as the road crew was removing the cones from repaving the left lane of the expressway and they did not bother sweeping the 1-2" stones that were all over it for 3 miles. Of course, people with crappy cars would shoot over to that lane and spray rocks on the cars behind them.

I hate people sometimes.....

Well at least your avatar makes me giggle each time I see it, so that's a positive from posting about my adventures on the friggin debris filled highways.

Yes anytime there's work done on a repaving etc, the little pebbles fly everywhere down for another half mile. Or an 18-wheeler will pick them up in its tires and fling them with a +50 strength buff and break and chip stuff...Hate that!

lol

Well, these were full-fledged rocks, not the normal road pebbles you run across. I simply hung back from everyone else and was OK (plus I was in the wifes G35 and not my coupe ).

I hate trying to pass idiots pulling excavation equipment as well as they don't care about the fist-sized rock and mud chunks they spew each time they hit a bump. Same with most dump trucks.

I feel your pain. I drive on the freeway everyday going to and from work and my front bumper has chips and dings all over it. It really sucks. Unfortunately, there isnt' really anyting you can do about it.
