So I'm my way home from work yesterday at 5 PM. The drive is from Pompano Beach to Miramar Florida about 25 miles on the Fla Turnpike (3 lanes each way) So I get off onto 595 (4 lanes each way) about halfway home to get gas at Racetrack on Davie Road.I finish and leave to get back on the highway when I'm turning onto the entrance ramp for 595 I see a baby blue BMW Z4 on my ***, I punch it and he stays on my *** (Remember his car is faster) he falls behind due to merging cars. So I figured, well now I don't have to worry about that Z4.

Just before I take the 595 > Turnpike exit I see the Z4 agressivly weaving through traffic to catch up to me. We enter the sharp right bank entrance ramp at close to 60 mph I see the "speed limit 35 with a picture of a truck turning over" the wall has black marks and gashes in the cement from people crashing into it hundreds of times.I go to the outside because I know I need to merge to the left when the ramp ends. I feel the VDC Kick in even though I'm not slipping due to the tire size Issue I have been having. *Brrrrrr** and the front wheels drift to the left a foot or so because of the VDC. I merge into the left lane to enter the next ramp, again I see another "35 mph truck turing over sign" I hit the ramp at 55 in 3rd (trying not to let the VDC kick in)The ramp curves sharp to the left I am slowed down by a 30 year old toyota Tercel and the Z4 passes me on the right.

After the ramp we merge into a single line filled with cars to enter the Turnpike. The Z4 is three cars ahead I see a red G35 Coupe in front of me. The red G35 cuts out from the line onto the Turnpike kicking up dust and I follow. Both of us blocked the Z4 from getting over. We are going through traffic at about 80 mph going, left, right left, right, right through the lanes of slow moving cars filled with people taking on their cellphones. The Z4 is stuck in traffic behind us. After about a mile he cuts out from behind a car and gets about one foot off my rear bumper.

The Red G35 punches it the three of us go at it. I see a slow truck coming up in the center lane, and the left lane has a car in it next to the truck. The Red G and I go right and the Z4 goes left after we pass the truck the Red G and I move to the center lane right in front of the truck and the Z4 is next to me with a slower car in front of him, I look over and I see him looking at me... Then he does something REALLY STUPID.. (besides owning a overpriced over estrogenized BMW) He makes a sharp movement into my lane almost slamming into my driver side door.. I hit the breaks and my Brembos prevent the SOB from hitting me. Now the BMW is in between My G and the Red G, I turn on my brights, hold down the horn and give him the one finger salute. Seeing what the BMW did The Red G break checks him we box him not letting him get over or go any faster. After about two miles and BMW gives up gets over and slows down, we leave him behind in traffic. I pull out from behind the Red G and as I pass the driver looks over at me with a huge grin and raises his eye brows. Almost as if he was saying "haha we got that BMW"

Clif notes:

BMW drivers are d!ck who act like they own the road.

Pissed off BMW driver angry that he does not own a G37 acts like a BMW owner...

Pissed off that he was being double teamed by two Gs he tries to "take me out" and me and the other G driver laugh at him.

Ummm... they were all mods bro... NICO doesn't advocate street racing

But...I see why you would have wanted to do it... just not very responsible if you think about it

^ I was not street racing, it was "Sprited driving" if you think going 80 on a road where the speed limit is 70 is so bad then... just about everyone here is guilty.

Yes it was not the smarter thing to do... BUT why own a G if you're going to drive it like a toyota?

Bro..I am certainly not preaching to you...and I definitely don't drive my G like it's a toyota... trust me...I was more or less just trying to tell you maybe from your quote above is prolly why they locked the thread...no matter how you look at it you were playing a dangerous game on the highway.

Stay safe!! We enjoy having you around!

225 HP in a 1500 lb car

0-60 in 4.8 secs.

Z4 -- 1500lbs / 225hp = 6.66 horses pulling / lbG -- 3400lbs/ 280hp = 12 horses pulling / lb

Nothing against BMW, I also own a 5 series and I love it also. My G just brings out my wild side growllll.

BTW I think I got that backwards it's actually lbs/horses. my G actually needs twice as much horses per lb to pull. my fault

Great story, I loved reading it and could picture how I would feel in your situation. Grrrr.... BMW's... Great read, man. Only thing that would have made it better would have been a video. I don't condone street racing, especially being a single father, but I would be a liar if I said I have NEVER done it.

A z4 has a curb weight of 3086 lbs...it's not a light car by any convertible standard...in fact convertibles weigh more then their coupe conterparts 98% of the time. And with only having 225hp....there is no way it should keep up with the G on a straight. If he did then you're a really bad driver or there was too much traffic to really let the G loose. Now if that z4 was an M roadster...yeah i can see him running with you...but only if it was an M....and you ahve to look close to tell the difference nowadays.
