Has anyone installed a high output alternator in the Jdirty?

I am looking at pulling the trigger on this bad boy:

The only alternators that seem to work well on J's are either OEM Nissan remmanufactured or new units. Aftermarket units of any kind cause all sorts of weird electrical, engine and/or ignition issues. I have been on this board since basically its beginning in '03 (we transitioned from a Yahoo Newsgroup), I estimate, I've seen 500 to 700 J owners pass through and only 2 had no issues with aftermarket units.

I'm not sure why you would need a high output alternator, but just as an FYI, the wiring harness on the J is known to melt under high loads. The wiring harness was considered heavy duty in the late 80's/early 90's for applications back then. It cannot handle all the technological advancements from recent times.

well if your pm's were working I could pm you as I have 3 110A alternators and a 90A ... all tested to work...I know the 110's are stock units off a quest and may take a little bit of modifying mostly on the adjustment bracket and you need to maybe drill the mounting holes out on the bottom a little bigger in diameter. But for $50 shipped you can have your pick...there's threads too across nico/zilvia/google of people that have done writeups of installing these on various cars as well. txt me 865-604-9443. The 110 will definitely help power your system alot better.
