hey i am planning to run turbo with my ka. who has the highest milage ka, that got turbocharged. i am a poor regular (well abnormal in automotive only) student trying make a fast car. (hahahaha) well i bought my car at 160,000, 3rd owner, previous owners were both ladies and the car was well taken of. (carfax and nissan certified, i use to work at a nissan dealership, lucky me) well it's at about 175,000 miles now. do you think it is still worth turboing or should i just buy a new ka. i can't afford to rebuild it. (well, at this current moment, but i will be able to afford it in like a 1 year, in the process of opening my own import performance shop and towing business, yes towing, business is booming) i know it comes down to how good it was taken care of, the car pretty much stock- runs very stong, only with exhaust, intake, and tune up. previous owners took care of it too, i think. no knocks, no leaks, sounds and runs good. what do you guys think. oh yeah its 91, ka24de. (yes the one with the jacked up mafs)

mine has 128,000 and I'm going with boost. Just test your compression and find out if she'll hold together. If you have bad compression in NA form it'll only get worse with boost.

190,000 ka24de, 170,000 ka24e... I rulethats like...360,000 miles together. course I didn't put even a quarter of those miles on em. I've only done the damage to the tune of 50,000 or so.

I've got 160k + on mine and have been running 9psi for the last couple of months. I don't expect it to last much longer so I'm saving up some $ so I can pull the engine this spring and give it some new rings and whatnot.

somewhere between 5 miles and 200,000. This is still kind of a new engine we're exploring as far as boost and depends on tuning and the condition of the motor. BTW - if you're like most of us. Once the boost bug hits, you'll get tired of 6-7psi. I ran 5psi for like a week. Then said f*** it, got a new MAFS and turned it up to 10

SloS13:You are exactly right..!! I also went 6 psi for about 2 weeks. Got old and slow, then cranked up to 8 psi... (very nice).. again got old, then went to 9 psi where im currently at. Im used to it again, but, i only have 370cc and stock maf so I cant go further until i get upgrades to the fuel system. I know my limits and thats where I stay regardless if im winning or loosing..!!!

there's a bunch of routes you could take. FMU, injectors, S-AFC, E-Manage. AEM EMS might work, Power FC. Megasquirt.

Im using a Z32 MAFS, Silvia 370's and an S-AFC II. Right now im less than pleased with the tunability but it runs.
