Higher Rpms when in Gear

Okay I warmed up my car and it seemed to idle at the regular rpm range around 700 to 800 but when I was driving I noticed that the rpms while in gear were about 200 higher than normal. The clutch is pretty old but I tested it by going up hill at 30 to 40 and it still rumbled as it was supposed to. It's really bothering me because I don't know what's wrong. I'll check it again tomorrow but if anyone has any experience with this then could you please leave some things for me to check? I love my car and this is really bothering me. Thanks in advance.
