The highest pump octane rating I can buy is 91. Yep, it sucks. I bought some race gas, C12 with a glorious motor octane rating of 108. I mixed it 1/3 2/3 with pump pee. So with this ratio I'm guessing it's around 98 octane. I could only run 8-9 psi safely, w/o detecting any knock or ping. I turned up the boost to 12 psi and haven't detected any problems with the car. Am I pushing it too far or am I being overly conservartive? I don't have any experience with increasing boost levels with an increase in octane and just wanted to know what you guys think about it. I've gotta go drag racing on Friday and beat up on some mustangs.....

Setup: JWT ecu, 72lb injectors, Z32 maf, NISMO fpr.

I have a widband an it's running 11.5 max under WOT.

I drove around on pump gas with 2 degrees advanced base timing on 1 bar (14.7 psi) for nearly a year. No problems, raced it all the time. You are probably fine on pump gas, but that's not saying that SOMETHING couldn't happen. All it takes is one knock event and boom....
