Hi,

i Have a 2002 Nissan Altima S, 106,xxxkm

recently i have been having an issue as to where the high beams do not operate.

I have checked the bulbs and the resistance from the wiring, all is good.

One thing i have noticed is...when taking out the passenger side fender liner. i noticed in between the windshield washer bottle and the pass. headlight there is some sort of a "module"/"controller" that has several wires connected to it. The windshield washer electrical wires go into it, but there are many other wires attached into this "Module"/ "controller" that im certain this part has more to do with just the windshield washer motor.

I've noticed that this part is broken on the side, and is exposing the "motherboard" where you can see all the resisters, capacitors etc....

Anyone know what this part is called??

Thanks in advance.

p.s. it has 3 plugs going into it

Unfortunately I am unaware of what part you are talking about. I'm sure I've noticed it in working on my car, especially when I installed my HID light. If it's not 10 degrees tomorrow, I'll take a peak from under the hood and see if I notice it.

Have you recently installed an HID kit or made any mods to your headlights? (new bulbs, new housing units)It could potentially be a switch issue.

Also, do you have a relay in your headlights? If the "mother board", as you call it, is exposed and there is no hard cover for it, I'd resort to temporarily covering it with electrical tape to weather proof it and use this until you can find a more permanent solution.
