I am wanting to remove my highbeam lights and replace them with ducting. Passenger side down by the oil pan or block to keep the engine cooler. The driver side to the snout on the air cleaner to get fresh air in there. I was also think of using driving lights and placeing them in the holes on either side of the license plate, but using the stock highbeam wiring to activate them. Has any one tried this, all opinions are welcomed.

First mount the lights. Make your jumper wires from the lights connection to the stock plug.

Making the jumper wireSupplies from auto parts store, 14-146guage wire(speaker wire could be awsome), flat male lugs, round female lugs, multimeter or continuity tester.

Find some flat blade male connectors, crimp those onto some wire. Find out how long you need of wire and then add an extra 1/2". Crimp on the female lugs.

Plug your multimeter into one side of the stock plug, touch the other lead from the meter to a screw or someother type of bare metal and make sure you have it set on ohms. The reading should be below 100 ohms.(This did not work, I even looked at the FSM diagrams) Have to take voltage reading, the red wire is hot and the red/black is not.RED wire on car= white wire on lights.RED/BLACK wire on car= Black wire on lights

Now hook up the other connections to the white wire from the driving lights. I have to find a bigger relay to handle the extra 5 watts. Mine is not working properly right now. Chatters excessively. The stock bulbs are 50 watts, and the driving lights are 55 watts.

Well I had made a mistake from my original assesment. I do not need a different relay, just a fuse. I returned the lights because I needed the funds. I will try again this weekend, I will just have to remember to have extra fuses handy. Anyway you will still have highbeams even if you do not attach the driving lights.

Couldn't you use some headlights like my 1997, which have the high/low beams in the same bulb?

BTW, please downsize your pics to 21% before uploading.

The headlights that are left are dual filiment, they have a low and high beam. The ones that were removed were for extra lighting on the highbeam setting.

The dual-filaments should be enough by themselves then right?

Well, I don't know about you, but I don't like those little bolt on driving lights. Check out this link, they are HID conversion bulbsthat fit stock locations for H6054http://prostreetlighting.amazo...oogle

Here are the replacement headlamps for my 97 that I think might fit a 720, H6054 is the basic model number, and thereare a few variations from Sylvania, heres the link,http://www.sylvania.com/Consum...s.htmYour 720's are Highbeam= H4651, Lowbeam= H4656

Those kits are cool because they allow you to use stardard halogen bulbs.

Well I managed to find something for one of the holes, also redid my exhaust this past week(low restrictive muffler). Hope the mpg will improve with these mods.
