highbeam problem on S13

hey guyson my s13 everytime i go to turn on my highbeams my regular lights shut off so basically i have no high beams any body know what can be wrong? can it be the switch itself?

stalk could be bad.. I had almost the same problem, but it was only the driver side, so I jumped the passenger to the driver side for high beams.

i had the same problem. Make sure that all of your lights are on. I looked around my car and almost nothing worked. I thought my headlight was just the problem but after spending hours of looking at wiring diagrams it was the stalk. If more than one of these lights are out then it might be the stalk because on the wiring diagram they are all in parallel with each other.

Take a walk around your car because I ended spending more money changing the headlights, fuses, and bulbs in the car than checking the wiring diagrams.

The diagram is from a 93 s13 but it should be the same seeing as the stalk that i have came from an 89. Happy Hunting
