Appologies if this has already been covered in a previous thread but I am fed up with my Nissan dealers stonewalling.
I have a 2016 Pathfinder SV with 9100 miles which intermittently shudders and shakes at 55-70 mph. It’s not the usual suspects like tires, alignment, balancing, tie rods, etc (switched from all season to snow tires in January and have had the alignment checked and force testing completed). It seems to be worse with crosswinds and cold weather. I have replicated the issue with the dealership service manager riding shotgun and he claims it’s the road surface and there is nothing he can do. After owning a 2015 Pathfinder and 4 Muranos and driving over the same roads for 13 years with no problems this explanation seems unlikely. Any suggestions or references to an independent Nissan suspension or drivetrain expert would be appreciated.

mac, toughest things sometimes to track down ,mostly felt in St. wheel ? And doesn't seem to emanate from back end of car ? A very new car you have can still , due to design , poor design what have you - probably "Resonating " the bumps in the bad road, as at least a Dealer Rep. HAD experienced it. Rep. kinda HALF-RIGHT.Any car , many a car WILL have a particular speed over a particular spaced bumpy road and get MAGNIFIED -AMPLIFIED kickback to suspension and more violently felt in STEERING wheel. Tires can be THE biggest factor ,a bushing change from rubber componants to Heav Duty / Off-Road type POLYURETHANE (sometimes other -silicone -whatever) materials yield BETTER- but STIFFER performance. One thing I know, in my opinion Michelin tires , NEW, virtually are RESISTANT to this crap. Obviously rule out damage/ defect ANYWHERE (don't think the case here) , and BEFORE messing with suspension replacement a clue is COLD , WINTER TIRES, guessing LOW SPEED RATING of tires(S,T).
Gather more info , when ready to "try anything"- get Michelins ON FRONT-two ! Get speed rating at least H, better V or best W.
Probably IMMEDIATE PROBLEM goes BYE- BYE ,if so- Now go get two for back of car.Whatsit 2-fer $ 360 ?

SCOGs, welcome to the forum.

When you say cold weather related, is this with snow or any other form of precipitation?
Would you happen to know around what RPMS this happens at? I wonder if the shuddering is the kind of feel when the needle hits a wall and bounces off a certain rev-limiter, cutting fuel which translates to a shudder. Sort of like learning how to drive manual

I'm guessing it's something related to power delivery since you say it is intermittent at a range of speed.

Back to that snow question, any idea about the health of your air filter?

Thanks for the welcome and the replies.
To clarify, the shuddering occurs intermittently, primarily when driving with a cross wind at 70+/- MPH. I have not looked carefully at the RPMs when it happens, but it isn't an acceleration issue, I have had the cruise control on and it will randomly (and frighteningly) occur. It is most noticeable when driving on grooved concrete (which we have here in MI for winter traction) but it also occurs when driving on the crown of an asphalt paved highway. I have had both Michelin Latitude and Bridgestone Blizzak tires and the shuddering is the same. Additionally, the hood is not fluttering when the shuddering occurs.
Since my original post, I have had a number of more mechanically inclined friends drive the Pathfinder and the common responses are: bad torque converter or differential. However, I have also had some suggest that it could be some software glitch.
Help...

Did you purchase this car new from that dealer? I'd try another dealer and get another opinion. No offense to your friends, but if you had a faulty differential or torque converter or even software glitch the symptoms would be present regardless of the type of road or weather conditions.
