Hey guys. Ive noticed my car has a strange little quirk to it. Ok...so the car runs fine in all other aspects, so I really have no idea what is causing this. This only occurs under wide open throttle, in any gear. So as you accelerate, everything feels perfect and all guages read fine up to 4000 rpm. From there, the water temp gauge starts dropping (WTF?) and you can feel the car pull some timing out...this last til roughly 5500-5700 rpm and timing feel like it is restored some what and then you shift...when I let off, the water temp goes back to normal and yeah....the water temp will show very little to 0 water temp but recovers as soon as you let off...i dont know whats going on.

Im pretty certain what im feeling is in fact timing pull...and I have no idea why the water temp gauge moves like that..this whole situation is very bizzare to me...any ideas? Thanks guys...pic for views!

If the gauge is moving then you are more than likely suffering from voltage drop. Have the alternator checked, and double check all grounds and main power wiring.

I would not run the car over 4000 RPM, you could drop voltage to the fuel pump and ECU causing you to detonate. This exact issue killed my friends FC.

A dying alternator will also cause the engine to feel sluggish like you are talking about.

Hmm, maybe Ill check my voltage throught the rpm band....but why would the car seemingly recover at high rpm?

When the alternator went out on one of my cars the car would bog for a few seconds then come back. They act very odd, and it's possible that you might just have a loose connection.

ended up being a loose connector! Thanks
