I might have asked this already and not sure if i got a full answer on it so...

Whenever I start my Q, it revs close to 2000rpm then drops down during warm upto 1000 then 625-650ish). The high rpm start worries me. Is it normal? 0-2000rpms in a blink? The engine feels like it want to launch out of the engine bay. Sould this be in the Infin Online Mechanic? As always, anyt help is appreciatee

Yeah post it there and delete this one. You'll get a faster response.

None of the ones I start ever get above 1200-1500 rpm on even the coldest morninigs (20°F).

Mine goes up to nearly 2000, and then settles at 1250 for warmup.....

My Q revs about 1200-1400 rpm when cold. When the temp gauge is on the halfway mark, warmed up, it idles at 600-700 rpm. I figure that's normal.

Every MODERN car sets the instantaneous after crank rpm by the coolant temp sensor reading. Necessary to warm up cats and precats to get emission under control ------the first 30 secs for precats, the next 2-3 minutes for cats........then when 160-176F is reached the coolant temp doesn't matter till the overheats starts at 195F then the ecu takes note again and tries to control the overheat by reducing ignition advance.
