Shift points will change with the speed of the engine. Your predetermined factory rev limiter will not permit the engine to over-rev, so you're okay (assuming you have an unmodified ECU). I would check, and/or replace the transmission fluid.Crazy224 wrote:Hello I got a 1995 240 automatic as my first car. First gear got up to 5500-6000 rpm when I was seeing when it would shift if I almost floored it. It never shifted, but shifts out of first fine on a normal drive. I was just wondering if my little test hurt the engine, since it red lines at 6500? I let off right when it hit that 5500-6000, so it didn't stay in the high rpms for a long period of time. Thanks guys and sorry for the nooby questions, this is just bugging me.
