Car: driving like a retard

Post

ive got a 97 240sx ka24de-t

it seems to run fine except for a minor stumble at idle. but my main concern is that when reving it high enought to get boost my car cuts out at about 4-5 psi and at about 3600 rpm, once i get on it enough to boost it will cut out and not rev any higher, or boost to the 8 psi mark i have set. i thought maybee my mass air sensor is bad but i would think it would do it all the time if that was the case. im getting frustrated cuz i cant find the problem, so far i have,

put new o-rings on the injectorschecked to see if there is oil in my exhuastchecked to see if there is any oil in my coolantchanged plugschecked the bovcleaned the mass air sensor

im running out of possibilities and am at odds please help my sick car!

the factory rev limiter is at 6800 rpm i believe, im spooling up at about 3800-4000 rpm and at that rpm im only getting about 5psi of boost, at that rpm/boost my engine seems to choke and will not rev or boost any higher, almost like the a/f ratio is so bad it wont rev any higher, im thinking to much fuel, maybe it leaking past the o-ring on the injector? i dont think the turbo is bad either as it only has about 1,000 miles on it, could this be a bad mass air sensor or a bad 02 sensor?

you had the car running good and strong before, and this is an issue that just popped up, or has it been like this since you turbo'd it?

what kinda fuel control are you using?

the car ran fine after i turbo'd it for about a month then i changed the injectors to 370 cc injectors but they ran the car to rich so i put the factory injectors back in with new o-rings and this is how it runs now, i dont understand, all i know is that there are little plastic caps in the end of the injector where the gas comes out and they have 4 little prongs that go over the end, i think to help atomize the gas, those pieces were gone when i took the factory injectors out so i think they went through the egine, but im guessing i could have a bad mass air sensor!

You still havent got this fixed???? I am guessing here but since it didnt happen till you put the injectors back in I am thinking either you damaged an injector or a ground wire is loosing contact in the loom that runs along the valve cover. try moving that harness around and see if it causes the idle to fluctuate.

i just put in a new set of injectors and injector o rings and the prob is still there, i am thinking its the air flow meter,

i started the car and as it was idling i unpluged the air flow meter and the car idled fine then when i plugged it back in the car idled like crap again,so i think thats the prob, hopefully with a new one it wont cut out at boost.

oh I must of missed where you said it had idle issues as well. Air flow is a good possibility as you say.
