I forgot all about posting this for you guys! These are some very potent subs and for a very good price. 100.00 shipped!

I've been eyeballing them for a while. With their aluminum cone and rubber surround, they should work pretty well by the pool! I bought 4 of them to try out.

By looking at the stats, I would put them on par with most anything below JL12W7 level.

My 4 arrived just a little bit ago. I unboxed one and holy cow the magnet/motor structure is big. Perhaps too big? It looks like it needs a 15" cone attatched to it...or maybe it's because I already have 4, 15's so these 12's look pretty small?

Right now I'm doing 4 sec long ~250w "burps" at 18hz (free air) in 1min increments to break in a single driver. This thing has a pretty heavy mms, around 370g IIRC so it's causing quite a bit of vibrations to be transfered into my floor.

For use in a house, I would say pair them up, opposed firing so the vibrations cancel each other out. In a car, I would say don't mount it horizontally. Ideally, mount it vertically with the cone parallel with the bumper, that way the cone moves front to rear.

Pictures soon to come...

So, I played with one of my speakers for a little while this afternoon, took some pictures and a video.

Youtube video. (5hz at a low level, then a near 300w "burp" at 17hz). The amp I used is only rated for 300w.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9AOuOaxNlQ

The designer of this speaker put a pole vent screen on it, which greatly increases the mechanical noise via "port noise" so to speak. Air should move effortlessly and this screen pretty much kills that idea. Sure it provides a measure of safety for the speaker (not sucking up loose poly or fiberglass), but at the cost of increased noise.

The noise will be a non-issue in a sealed box in a car, but in a ported enclosure in a house, it won't due. A person will either need to use a passive radiator or go sealed. Being that my game plan is to use these outside, it will be a non-issue and I will be porting them.

Here's the pole vent screen.

And now pictures.

Well, I may get married next summer. At least that's what we're talking. You're more than welcome to drive all the way to KS to come hear them, along with the rest of the outdoor setup at the pool.

Pictures of my woofers and subwoofers.

(4) DIYMA R12's (subs)(2) AE TD15h's (woofers in the middle)(2) CSS SDX-15's (subs)

The 15's are used in the house (woofers used in my left and right speakers). The 12's will be used at the pool.

It's application dependent.

As a woofer the TD15 owns...and it owns most world class woofers. It's even a step above the JBL 2226, which is considered the world industry standard.

As a subwoofer, the SDX-15 is superior to the TD15.

As an outdoor subwoofer...well, I'm not using my SDX15's outside, so the R12 wins.

i get what your saying... and i was talking about the SDX15 being used as a Subwoofer.

on a side note, the Diyma subs are great untill one blows then your only option is a custom recone or a fancy paperweight iirc... lol

True that. Luckily I have build houses like Fi Car Audio in Vegas and Acoustic Elegance in Green Bay...who builds those TD15h woofers that I have (the ones with the polished aluminum phase plug)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6vVv41hSFY

I love bass... but I'm also a big fan of quality. I got 2 12" kicker cvr's for $150 at circuit city when it was around. God I miss them.
