Hello everyone! Being a newb to the forum, I thought I'd ask newb question. I got my 09 Versa in november and I've noticed a high pitched noise while driving on the highway. Its at high speeds (80-120km) that this squeal like noise appears. I dont think its from weather strips, or outside for that matter. Its terribly annoying, and while at the dealership describing this, the customer agent looked at me like I was nuts. So I said forget about it. I'm hoping that others know what I'm talking about.Other than that, my daytona blue Versa ( Beast ) is doing great. easy steering, great windows, and so far getting 400km a tank. ( not sure if thats good at this point )thanks all,KM

Do you have a hood deflector on the front of the car?

I do and after installing it, the high pitched squeal happens occasionally when driving at high speeds.

Early on some 2007's had a problem where the sheet metal under the driver's side mirror had been dimpled during installation and the gap whistled at higher speeds. You might check to see if there's a gap on yours. (Nissan repaired the earlier ones under warranty.)

I dont have a hood deflector ( want one )I wouldnt describe it as a whistling sound, it sounds more like an electrical noise thats high pitched. And its surely coming from inside the car. Its a high frequency sound, that I could almost compare to when tv stations go down and there's a high pitched noise on the tv. In the car it sounds like a higher headache making pitch. It's just lovely. Even pumping the music won't cover the noise, it goes straight to your ears.

Help LOL

Have you tried turning off the Stereo Speed control. Or turning off the stereo completely.

Otherwise I'd take it to the dealer and see you can get a tech to ride and listen since you are under warranty.

Sorry I couldn't help much. If you get the hood deflector you will experience a whistling noise occasionally LOL
