What is your experience with braking systems? The WD-40 bit scares me... maybe the wording used is confusing me, but it sounds like you sprayed the WD-40 directly onto your rotor/friction material.. very bad idea.
Perhaps the reinstall of the caliper on that side is not exact...?
I'd take 'er apart again, and look for signs of scraping on all surfaces.
