I have a '10 Altima Coupe with a factory spoiler. The spoiler has a brake light, but the original high mount brake light is still in the rear window...I would like to remove this and cover the hole with a plastic piece. I've seen this done on the Altima Sedan, but I know they don't have an LED high mount tail light. Is this possible?

Im not sure what you question is..

Are you asking if it ok to remove the brake light in the rear windshield?? If so yes Im sure you can just a matter of unhooking some wires and clips Im sure.

woohoo! another great thread by a one post warrior!

why you do realize that even though your spoiler has one, an additional brake light provides added visibility to the drivers behind you. so i ask, why would you remove something that adds to your safety? :slap:

you could ask the same thing for anyone who has headlight or tail light overlays, they reduce the amount of light produced which makes it more dangerous, yet it's probably the most popular mod. we all add/remove things which compromise our safety cause it looks good

if you want to remove the brake light from the back window, just push the light towards the rear of the car and a clip will come undone, then lift up and you can then unhook the wires and cover the hole with whatever you please.

I actually think 2 lights is distracting and looks dumb.

Worst case, you can just pull the power to it, its in the trunk!

I want to remove it because I think it looks better.

And I may only post here and there but that's because I have better things to do with my life than pour unnecessary money into a machine that depreciates by the hour in order to fill a void in my masculinity so I can be laughed at by people who drive "real" cars.

My Altima does a great job as fuel-efficient transportation to and from my job which is a 50-mile daily round trip.

Damn throw a little flame at the new guy and he gets pissy. I'm still a new guy back here at Nico, however, I know how to take the crap and roll with it. I'll agree with the other posters that it can be argued many ways whether it's for safety or aesthetically pleasing not to have two lights. I'll be in the same boat here soon when I get my factory spoiler w/the light in the spoiler. Which one will I use? Will I use both? Eitherway I'll make the decision to drill a hole in my trunk to run the wires. If the two work and they work fine, keep them both. If one works and the other doesn't, then worry if it worries you. Otherwise consider this... is it aesthetically pleasing to listen to you complain? Take the suggestions and form your opinion and do what you like :D

To remove the third brake light you simply need to pull it back towards you and lift up. Once you lift up you can un-clip the wiring. However If you don't have your back window tinted, you'll see the hole form the outside. I don't believe there is a cover you can buy to cover the hole. Hope that helps.

LMAO.... But seriously. just because someone doesnt have a lot of posts doesn't mean u should slam them when they ask something.. even if it may seem stupid.. he wants to do something to his car, either help him or dont say something unless it's for something like comical relief. every member is valuable. i hate it when people act like their better then everyone else, it's so closed minded :ohno: . modding is for fun and making your car different, thats why we mod lol.

I asked him why he would remove something that adds to safety, and that's a legitimate question. If he can't handle being called a one post warrior, which isn't even really flaming the OP (now if I called him nala, that would be a different story), then maybe he shouldn't be on the internet. After all, the internet is a scary place.

I also have this issue, I would like to take the light out, and i did, but you can see wires and a hole, not very good looking, and when they put in my spoiler, they unhooked the power to the brake light, so right now its useless, I wish I had something to block the hole with...
