So is it just the price? No mechanical/drive ability issues? ...I checked KBB and Nada, and both list at mid $14k

Well, I'm no mechanic, but the first thing to come to mind with cars at this mileage are Seals / bearing / rings and things of that nature. When those little pieces go, bigger issues follow. You should also consider the cooling system and if it's been replaced yet; then suspension, I mean you can go on and on. Even for a project car, at 152k miles, you shouldn't be spending $15k on it.

Just my $.02... but unless you have already purchased it, keep looking. 06 M's are plentiful. And just don't settle for cars in your neck of the woods, look everywhere. You can have a car shipped from Coast to Coast for as little as $1000. and the price goes down the closer you get between the two locations.

Good luck and keep your head down over there...

Way too many miles for that price. You can find M's everywhere. Its just depends on what options you want.

200,000+ easily with good maintenance. If you stay up on all maintenance through the whole life of the car I would imagine you can hit 300,000 with out much luck involved. These engines are very well designed and were on the top rated engines in the world for many, many years. The transmission is well over built for the power the car has, it was a truck transmission. I still see 2001-2003 Infiniti G35 coupe's on the road with our same engine and some of them are over 300k miles now.

But still, too much money for the car however it may depend on the options the car has. If the car is fully loaded them it might be a good deal depending on maintenance record. If the car is straight base model then way too much money. If the car is a base model with no options then I would pay somewhere between 12-13k for it.

One reason both myself and my wife left Lexus and more recently Acura was because of their timing belt driven motors. Between 90K and 105K miles, its a $1000+ job at the dealer. Our motors are timing chain driven so this is a major maintenance item you shouldn't have to worry about. But like any car, maintenance is key! Like everyone have said, I would wait and look some more. Good deals will come up. On another note be safe out there! I just got back last month myself.

I just saw an 06 sport fully loaded with 138k for $13k at the dealer I bought my car from. I agree with the rest too much for mileage.

Here's the link to it:

If your M was for sale back when I was looking, I'd have bought it. Not much stress about resale value at that level!
