I have a 2006 m35x with 194000 miles, I love everything about the car except the gas mileage and no Bluetooth audio.

The car is in good shape, never had any major issues, this car plows through any kind of weather. My wife seems to think it's time to let it go. I don't want another payment. My question is how are your high mileage m35s doing? Help me convince her it'd got a lot of life left.

Convincing a woman is never easy. (Fetucini, my beautiful spouse, made me type that). There are a few members here with well passed your mileage. There was a tghread recently where members posted their mileage. Search for "mileage" and see what pops up. However, I'd be in your wife's camp as I could never do without bluetooth. Even my 09 M35 with the HR engine and a 7-speed gear box does no better than 16-17 in city driving (it does 26 on 75 mph hwy trips with is better than my 07).

215k here on my 06. Biggest repair to date has been a rack and pinion. My Trans is starting to get a little quirky, it likes to briefly shudder when the converter locks or unlocks, but I'll drive it until it dies, then put a trans in it and drive it till it dies again.

Bluetooth audio can be added for a few hundred $,
You don't have to buy a new car to have it.

the only gripe about this car is the stupid engine and its crappy oil consumption. my car is over 135K and even after i swapped out the driver's valve cover, i still have to add a quart or so every 1k miles.

for those who have high mileage car, what oil viscosity are you using? 5-30 or 10-40?

I still use 5-30. At 215k, I don't use any oil. Original engine and trans. I am, however, one of the lucky few who doesn't have oil consumption issues.
