I was wondering what kinds of problems these cars are prone to at over 100,000 miles. I have a friend with a 95 se and he's willing to part with it for 3500. I forget how many miles are on it , but i'm sure it's pretty up there. Any help would be great. Also can i expect to get many more miles on this engine and transmission ? How much does the complete 60k cost for this car ? My previous car's 60k was nearly 2 grand for a complete 60k and I don't want to spend that much anymore. Also a reuiblt engine's average cost as well would be great. thanks for your time.

Well as long as the chassis is in good shape you can always drive it until the engine goes and then swap in an SR.

3500 is a pretty awesome price for a 95 if the only thing "wrong" with it is high mileage. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a 240 with over 100k ( bought mine with about 90-something thousand on it )

...as far as 'problems' I've had with mine, blown struts in the front, one of my speakers doesn't work well, and one of my power windows just went out. I also had to replace belts...will be replacing hoses too I guess, but that's too be expected. I probably need new plugs too, haven't looked at mine.

...and KA motors with transmission's can usually be found pretty cheap since people are swapping them out all the time, and hence just need to get rid of their old engines.

GO GOR IT!!!My '91 now has 200K miles, and still runs strong."When" my engine decides to give-out I'll SERIOUSLY consider the SR swap, until then I'll keep driving this Baby.Don't hesitate to buy the car, IF your friend knows about REGULAR oil changes!!!:thumbup :rockon :Werd

So as far as maintanence goes with replacing gaskets, chains, sensors and valve adjustments ... how much does that cost for this car ? btw his car has 90k on it.

Yep, almost 160K miles on my '92, no problems so far. Had it since it had 20K on it.
