How well do these engines hold up stock if they've been well maintained after 200k?

Yeah they hold up fine if properly maintained. My last 240 had 198k on it and still runs to this day. There are many 200K+ KAs on the board. If those miles are from the midwest I would worry about rust.

Very well I think. I just hit 190k on my daily driver S13 last week. Make sure that it has been taken care of and it will run like a champ. I drive my S13 REALLY hard too. I use Durablend oil, half synthetic half organic dino oil. I change my O2 sensor on the exhaust every 2 years to keep my fuel mileage good (a steady 25-28 mpg is what I get). The best thing I'ver ever done though was ask my mechanic to replace the rear seals when he put in another OEM clutch (it's all stock, no need for a powerful exspensive clutch), the new seals cured a minor oil leak. This is my second S13, the other had 150k miles when I sold it, and I bought this one with 173k miles! Everything will fall apart around the engine before it breaks

My KA24E is running with 223K miles on it. No rebuilding done yet. So I guess it's still holding together.
